The cottage over looks Penhill which is excellent for fell walking and the views from its summit are breathtaking! West Witton is well known for its legends and folk tales of which the, 'Burning of the Bartle' is it’s most famous. (This festival is celebrated at the end of August) George's Holiday Cottage * * * * A four star, newly refurbished country cottage which dates back to the 19th Century. It has original beamed ceilings and stripped wood floors, a new, well-equipped, oak fitted kitchen/diner, bathroom with electric power shower, a comfortable lounge with a 200 year old stone fire surround and multi-fuel stove. There is one double bedroom with views over the hills and a refurbished Victorian cast iron bed, one children’s bunkroom and a double sofabed in the lounge. There is a cottage garden with barbeque, table and chairs and a covered side passage with storage facilities for large equipment. Facilities
